From the Bean to the Bar

The was a commission from St Dominic’s Primary School, Barnsley, to document the Y2 children’s work with Bird & Bee for their Creative Partnership’s project looking at the journey of chocolate.

Debbie Howard and Ryan Morley from Bird & Bee worked on a Creative Partnerships project for 10 weeks researching the whole journey of a chocolate bar. We looked at all the stages from growing the beans, through to the process of making chocolate, transporation, producing the wrappers and retailing the bars. In the film each child explained one of the twenty stages of producing the bar of chocolate, that they had made themselves.
