On line workshops

Making a successful short film

We will be running a three hour on line workshop for early career filmmakers on how to make a short film. We will cover development, funding, scripts, casting, pre production, production, post production and releasing your film into film festivals and beyond. It will be a packed session full of tips and advice. We will use our multi award winning short film Safe as a case study and share invaluable information and insights into making a really successful short film. There will be time for questions during the session.

The workshop will be with writer/director Debbie Howard. Debbie was an actor for 20 years before moving into writing and directing. She has over 40 years of experience in the film and TV industry. You can find out more about Debbie on our ‘About Us’ page. She has made many multi award winning short films and has directed almost 100 episodes of television. She has a great deal of experience of working with actors and knows how to organise an efficient and successful shoot. She is a full BAFTA and BIFA member.
